Laser energy breaks the tattoo pigment into particles small enough for your body to clear naturally. Sessions are spaced six to eight weeks apart to give your skin time to recover and the ink time to disperse.

Full removal, partial fading before a cover-up, and old amateur ink are all handled differently. At your consultation we look at the age, colour and depth of the tattoo and set expectations for how many sessions it is likely to take.

We also have a tattoo artist on site, so if you are fading in preparation for new work we can plan the whole journey in one place.

## Common questions
How many sessions does tattoo removal take?It depends on ink density, colour and age. Black ink responds fastest; most tattoos take between six and twelve sessions for full removal, fewer for fading.

Will it leave a scar?When aftercare is followed properly, scarring is uncommon. We give you written aftercare and check the area at every visit.
